Breathing Exercises Can Help With Anxiety
Breathing is one of the quickest ways that we can slow down our anxiety responses. If you're anxious, your breathing will be fast and shallow - if you do that for long enough, you actually start to feel quite panicky. You know your heart and lungs are connected so it's helpful to extend the outbreath. It doesn't really matter what the numbers are, if you can make that outbreath longer and more vigorous than your in breath, then that's going to help calm that response fairly quickly.
