The Inner Experience of D.I.S
Transitions are not normally so abrupt or evident, for the dissociation is seldom experienced as some inexplicable rupture in experience. The inner experience of this process largely takes place in a completely normal and everyday way. It very much depends on whether the change of identity occurs as part of the rhythm of everyday life, or is triggered by some unpredictable factor. Each identity has its own memory, preferences, behaviours, and perceives itself and its surroundings in its own way. This can even mean that aspects of identity that appear biologically determined can vary from one identity to the next. Body posture, facial expressions, voice, or handwriting can also vary.
