The Future of Synthetic Biology

The synthetic biology world, I followed a little bit from the cannabis space. You know, you've got a ton of companies now using synthetic biology to make various advanced natural products. Christina Smolks lab at Stanford has done the proof of concept for production of morphine from glucose in modified yeast. Multiple people have done it now for psilocybin, which is a relatively simple molecule that's probably a little bit genetically closer to yeast anyway in terms of its original organism. It's all just engineering and optimization at this point.
