Do Sleep Deprivation Increase Performance and Body Composition?

Not sleeping enough does tend to increase weight gain and fat gain, likely through probably two dominant mechanisms. Not having especially high calory, hyper palatable foods in the house is a good idea if you're sleep deprived. It's probably not a great idea to do a lot of cardio vascular activity outside if it's very hot because thermo regulation can be impaired If you're extremely sleep-deprived, don't lift heavy or really high speed free weight stuff. Anything that enhances recovery probably enhances recovery, independent of whether your sleep deprived or not.
