We're facing the worst of the 1970s with a series of severe, protracted negative supply shocks that are stagflationary. We have debt ratios that are four times for the US and advanced economies as those that were in the 1970s. On top of it, we had first time ever a major pandemic in a long time. The desecolation from a cold war is becoming colder could lead to essentially to a hot war. This perfect storm is worse than the 30s and 40s because at that time they did not have climate change or worry about AI.
