Semi conductor diffusion is a process that i would have discussed previously. It's a om process in which, if you have more freely moving particles on one side ofa semi permeabl membrane and fewer on the other side, just by chance, over time, they tend to get more moving there. So when they 're placed next to each other, what happens is that the valence electrons tend to diffuse from the nd type to the p type. And the same thing happens with the holes. But as this happens, you've got a flow of charge. A flow of charge leads to a charge build up. In equilibrium, there is balance of these drift and diffusion forces. This
