It really does feel like looking back, it's just like a dead period. And I cannot think of another time in history unless we're thinking of like Nazi talking about general art or something. Anything that seems kind of like universally appealing has escaped from the art world and became a meme itself. So memes in a sense are, at least during this time period, they are predominantly American.
