CNN's John Defterios sat down for a Q&A with artificial intelligence pioneer Thomas M. Watson at the University of California, Los Angeles. Watson has been working on AI and machine learning applied to genomics so applied to the problem of given the DNA of an organism he can tell what traits complex traits such as diabetes or high blood pressure could be picked up by machines. He also founded several tech startups along the way including one that was in information security and encryption technology. We're going to spend some time talking about genomic stuff because I'm an email guy myself so yeah we tend to get into the genomic stuff rather a lot.
