The department of energy will empower 17 national laboratories to serve as the backbone of the coming quantum antrnet. At the university of chicago, a first of its kind programmes starting in a few weeks, will enable classically trained scientists and engineers to transition careers in quantum science. A quant foundry is being set up at argon national laboratory focusing on building the materials that will serve as a basis for these technologiss it's the first of its own in the united states.
