I don't think Ghana and Zambia are going to become the norm across the continent. They have gotten themselves into positions where they can't pay back their creditors. For many Africans this does still look like a new era of austerity. African countries are starting from a different position than in the bad old days of the 1980s and 1990s. The policy makers are far savvier but there will still be political impacts because African politics is not too different from politics anywhere else.
