Thomistic disputeatio was a foundation of both teaching and research in the university. The great Thomas, Father Reginald Garagulogrand, contended that it restores the love of truth for the sake of truth itself. In our current age of echo chambers, fake news, and fractious academic discourse, Thomistic disputeatio could actually teach us much about collaborative inquiry.
