The History of the Culture of Australia
I had no idea that there was continuous culture that goes back 65,000 years anywhere on the world, let alone in Australia. There's only a certain amount of tenure in universities and it's easy to put yourself too far above the power of parapet. They say medicine advances only with the death of every great old professor. Once a whole professor dies and there's room, you know, the woodlands survive once one of these great old trees falls down. And then they've provided enough nourishment in the soil in the academia as well for these new ones to flourish.
