If you press the side button, you get your control center. This new dock is only for reasons. It doesn't let you mark anything as a favorite. If someone is reliant on the dock and used it heavily like you did, this is going to really bug them. But I would argue that they've made it somewhat better by the fact that the single press gives you your honeycomb or your list.
