The Rise and Fall of Democracy
After World War I, we could distinguish ourselves from other countries in the world by democracy. It was limited by various rules, like term limits for congressmen and certain qualifications for the president. So it was sort of a, it was democracy but tempered by institutional barriers to keep it from being a pure democracy. Now you have some Republicans wanting to outlaw abortion after a certain time nationally with federal legislation. But that would be totally unconstitutional because the constitution doesn't give Congress the power to outlaw abortion.
