How Do We Protect Against This Attack?

One thing you could do as an attacker is if you had control of the none generation function, instead of just having i spit out key immediately, you could have it spit out a couple of bits of the secret data. He's waited like a year, and then eventually he's got your whole key, andu you're dead, right? So how do we protect against this? It's a very non trivial problem.
