The Importance of a Network State

I think the thing about New York that everyone talks about is just like full anonymity. Like you'll walk on the streets and technically you know tons of people in the city, but you're basically fully anonymous because there are so many people. Whereas I think when you have these tighter knit communities, your actions actually become potentially very different as opposed to hard and fast rule of the law. There's a great Richard Bartlett tweet guy who has never hosted a dinner party. He says if you can't throw a dinner party and then even more importantly, collectively figure out how to clean up the dishes afterwards, then probably don't try anything else.
