I don't think there's anything horribly unrealistic or made up about it because yeah, one of the reasons Mumbai lends itself to Dickensian stories is because you have some of the richest people in the country live there. Poverty and wealth living side by side, but completely walled off from each other. Like I'm aware of what the Bombay riots were like, but like the movie is not really giving you much.
