The Proteus: A Game-Changing Instrument
The E3 got a bad reputation for reliability as a result did not sell like. So we had to come out with a product. We showed them the Proteus and said, this thing's going to be a great product. Are you interested in co-marketing with us? They said, no, we've already built one of those. And it took us about three months to discover that what was happening wasn't the card edge connectors, which were also known to E3. It was the darn ram sockets that were failed. Once we found that, then we had to pull the ram sockets off of every board and replace them. The people gave us the replacement sockets for free
