The Snakes and Ladders Board
In the Indian version, the winning square is actually in the top central row of the board. You can overshoot the winning square when you move and you have to slide back down the board and try again. This is one of the most figurative types of the board where the board is really a square grid inserted like the torso of a human body. The entire game is set inside the body because the game board represents the entire body of the universe, so to speak.
