I think of myself professionally in some ways, still primarily as a writer. I read into and overthink exclamation points and especially ellipses so much. My mommace conversation is a lot just by sending a thumbs up emoji. And like, I want to use proper, you know, sort of canonical American usage unless it calls for something else. Elmore Leonard's thing: You can only use an exclamation point every 100,000 characters that you write.
