The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence

The search for extra terrestrial intelligence is a misnomer, because we don't know how to find intelligence herse. What we're doing is trying to find evidence that somebody else is using some technology over the vast distances between the stars. The trick there is, you want to look at all the sky, all the time and at as many frequencies as you possibly can. And so now we are finally able to build telescopes that look at tens of thousands of square degrees at a time - looking for these transient signals.
