Is China Reshaping the Internet?

i'm concerned with all the forces that are shaping the future internet. I talk about china, information controlis as a tool of regime stability. What we see there is an erosion of any sort of global internet. i don't know how to build a system that provides global validation of identity that cannot be attacked. The other issue, of course, is hardening of sovereign boundaries through changes in the technical design.
