The Dissatisfaction of Religion
LZ Granderson: How would we know if religion is leaving a hole in some of us, or there's just a hole in the human condition? LZ: There's definitely no way to know that you can never do a control experiment on the universe. But I think there's a lot you could do to investigate plausibility on it, and one way would be just to observe that most people for most of the last hundreds of years have lived in a religious context where they have gathered regularly. The East has it much clearer, he thinks, that so much of our meaning, our identity is found in each other.
