How to Rule Out a Serious Cause for Your Symptoms
I try to explain in understandable terms how confident I am in ruling out a serious cause for their symptoms and why. And explaining the why is probably the most important thing. It's really important for helping patients understand what their symptoms and experience represents for addressing their fears and anxieties. So for that hypothetical patient, I'd say I'm glad you came today. Based on the symptoms you've described in the electric cardiogram we took, I'm 98 to 99% sure that there's not a serious heart related cause for your symptoms.
