The Death of a Girl Scout
Jean Leroy Hart was found not guilty of murdering Denise, Michelle, and Lori Milner in 1977. The families filed a civil suit against the Magic Empire Council of Girl Scouts organization claiming negligence because the camp lacked proper security among other factors. In 1989 DNA testing was conducted on some of the evidence. Of the five aspects tested, three of the matched body fluids taken from Jean Leroy Hart, only one and 7,700 Native Americans would match. These results deemed the matches inconclusive. fundraising efforts were underway for more conclusive DNA testing.
