Socrates' Questions Are Extremely Difficult to Answer

Socrates is such an inspiration there partly because he's asking about concepts that people were using all the time. He's asking mhet in a society where people already think they know a lot about this, and it's really quite surprising. What can philosophy offer that common intelligence cant? It's that we so quickly get confused when we try to grapple with confusions of meaning and argument.
