The good thing about colonial cities is they provided infrastructure and investment in it. But the problem is they were completely ill-suited for the way that people in those countries actually wish to live. How should we think about planners? Should they emerge from local people, but then they are part of the politics? You have to build that in mind, you know, that your own preferences are irrelevant.
