Is Manual Therapy a Core Treatment?
Manual handling skills are incredibly valuable if anything to reassure a patient who's in a lot of pain while you're assessing. But I wouldn't call that manual therapy as such in the classic context of joint mobilizations, manipulation and soft tissue massage. There are people out there that think that physiotherapy should have manual therapy as a core treatment, but again, it's that definition of core that is not something that us physiotherapists do.
