Is There a Place for a Therapist to Touch Their Patient?

There has been a lot of debate around the use of soothing touch in western medicine, particularly in psychiatry and psychology. The laying on of hands was thought to be one of the most healing things that an individual, a clinition, could do for a patient or lient. A i think the magic word there is consent, right? And and consent at the time, not when the person is in an altered state of consciousness, but consent in advance, where the person are in their normal mind.
