Machiavelli's Gloria Duplicata
Machiavelli's book is dedicated to one of the young Medici princes, who had been restored in 1512. He says this is an exaltation to the Medici to win what he calls Gloria Duplicata. The question from Machiavelli is always how a prince can attain gloriousness.
