Joan Crock's Legacy

Of the 13,000 McDonald's of the US today, over 1,500 are black-owned. The Ronald McDonald House served to give lodging to parents and their children who require medical treatment for life threatening issues. Once one of the biggest generators of styrofoam single-use containers gradually and grudgingly, McDonald's began to try and substitute more eco-friendly materials. Joan Crock was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer with within months. She died in her Rancho Santa Fe mansion, having spent her days deciding exactly what she would do with her $3 billion estate.
