Cognitive Development of Service Dogs

This chapter explores the Puppy Kindergarten project aimed at understanding the cognitive abilities of puppies, especially in the context of service dog training. It highlights how cognitive skills, such as memory and self-control, develop in puppies and emphasizes the individual variability in these traits across breeds. Additionally, it challenges traditional views of dog intelligence and examines the unique bond dogs share with humans, particularly through their training and service roles.
