The Importance of Understanding the Dualistic Intuition
David Chalmers would agree in some sense, the brain explains consciousness. He thinks it does causally give rise to conscious experience, but only because there are extra psychophysical laws of nature that bridge the gap between the brain and consciousness. We've got to be very careful that the member of the public is understanding the term like explanation or consciousness or in the way philosophers intend it. So how do you smile? I mean, I can see one way in which that you could respond to that very easily by saying exactly they're not catching onto this concept. The philosophers are constructed for themselves. They know they've invented this concept and ordinary people aren't no, they aren't latching onto it
