The Toughness of Politics

We've been imagining certain things as pre-political. Maybe if we treat these things as political, politics might be more fun. And also terrifying. It can be terrifying when things that you've taken to be foundations in your life are called into question. Sometimes it has gotten sufficiently awful that it spills over into conflict. But I think the conflict is driven less by embracing dynamism and more by resisting it.
