Ep. 120 The Rationality of Naked Cats, Eurovision, and the Theological Authority of The Tradition
The Reluctant Theologian Podcast
The Role of Reason in Theology
Reformed Thomists constantly make appeals to the so-called Great Tradition. They always seem to exclude the views of Armenians, Cambridge Platonists, Wesleyans and even Gelicalism. It's almost as if the Reformed Thomists are making their own private judgment about which bits of the gusts and the coinus they agree with. Now what about the hyper-traditionalist Catholics? Well, they're using their own private judgments about who does and who does not belong in the Great Tradition. You cannot escape the role of reason in theology. Anyone who disagrees with me is absolutely wrong because they are making a private judgment that I am wrong.
