Gothic Horror Films - Are They Coming From That Tradition?
There was no gothic horror being made at that time. So theyta, hammer just came straight in withi an open playing field. Within a couple of years, everybody, the americans, the italians, you know,Everybody was making gothic Horror films. Even dracular, although it's actually set in 19 31, you don't really get any impression that it is set in 99 one. It still has that sort of old gothic feel to it. And yet, by the forties films, they're very, definitely set in the 19 forties. That looks like the19 forties, the gothic didn't quite feel the same way
