It is such a trend that has kept going, the trend toward memoir and the trend toward telling stories in nonfiction forms. For me, the only way I could tell my story was through nonfiction. And I think part of the problem with modern literature is that we teach boys to love nonfiction. A lot of men think nonfiction is the only real stuff out there. But I wish that we could give fiction equal time with nonfiction.
