The Politics of COVID-Zero in China

The policy of COVID-Zero in China, it's mind woggling. The totalitarian aspect of it and the way that China is now still treating this as a crisis, this is what they think is the solution. I tend to use the word subjects purposefully instead of citizen to indicate the extent to which their lives are subject to the whim of those in power. They're absolutely subject to the whims of the party in that regard. But within the Chinese worldview ... classical morality has passed down from the classics of Taoism and Confucianism still play a huge role in society.
