Computers of the Early 20th Century

The first fully programal, soturing, complete digital computer was eniac. It was built for the us Military in 19 forty six and weighed 30 tons. In today's money, it cost about six million dollars. Its processing power was trivial - a small digital watch would have more computing power to day than it did. Later, transistors were used. These are smaller and cheaper and much more reliable. The key components of a modern desk top computer are the central processing unit. I'll talk about transistors in the next episode.
