The Battle of San Bernardino Strait
The battle goes on for the better part of two and a half hours. Krita is never able to close the range, at least with his battleships. He claims that he has sunk two carriers by gunfire and that several others with torpedoes later in the action. At about 1230 or so, he decides that he's not going to obey his orders and head back north to San Bernardino Strait. It gives Krita the excuse to break off action, head north,. avoid annihilation in his mind and escape into San Bernardino Strait and survive the battle.
