Chat GPT and rival chat bots have been rushed onto the market since November. They are forms of generative AI, systems trained on oceans of data to give instant human-like responses to pretty much anything that you ask. There are many potentially exciting applications that could drive economic growth, cure illnesses, or even combat climate change. But alongside that are lots of potential risks that come along with it as well.
