The Effects of Light and Heavy Loads on Hypertrophy
In the last sort of decade, there have been all these studies coming out where researchers have been comparing the same number of sets to failure with what they call a moderate load. And essentially, you've got really two ways of explaining that data. You can either say that there is one mechanism causing the hypertrophy to be identical in both situations or you can go down the route that they originally went down and think light loading was being driven by stuff like metabolic stress.
