BVHM's Community School - The Essentials
BVHM is a community school in San Francisco offering food, counseling and mental health services. Many of BVHM's Latino families only speak Spanish so they didn't feel comfortable navigating the city's homeless shelter system. The school offered up its gym as an emergency shelter for students and families that don't have another option. Some parents were concerned about who would be staying at their children's school; we'll look into how this school dealt with those tensions.
