The Importance of Intrinsic Motivation in Exercise

Intrinsic motivation means that you have an internalized why. Getting paid to go lift in the extrinsic motivator is not bad, but it just doesn't seem to have same staying power of motivating someone when they have an identified belief about what it means to participate in this activity. So as coaches, we have to understand what are the intrinsic motivators of our clients,. We have to really have some open dialogue with them.
