D'Exipis gives the governor Marianas a pre-battle speech in which he rouses the troops. This is really interesting, it gives us insight into the Greek mindset at the time. However, there is a strong sense of still of Greek pride and Greek independence. There are many free cities, free Greek cities, both in Greece and Asia Minor that are, you know, free from taxation. Afro-Dizzyas is one, for example, and they see themselves as partners of the Romans. As brothers.
