Nietzsche's Comment on Beauty

The softer and more comfortable we are, the more hedonistic and pleasure loving we are. The less beautiful we become a very logical thing when you think about it. But it's one of those harsh realities of life that civilization hides from us. Weakness leads to ugliness. Ugliness leads to liberalism. Now Nietzsche says the beauty is no accident. Even the beauty of a race or of a family, the charm and perfection of all its movements is attained with pains. Like genius it is the final result of the accumulated work of generations. Great sacrifices must have been made on the altar of good taste. For its sake many, many things must have been done and much must
