The Mongolfier Balloon

Jacques charles had been a sort of government clerk, but he was fascinated by all the new scientific discoveries swirling around him. Charles doesn't know how the mont golfiers made their balloon fly, but he thinks they must have filled it with hydrogen. His balloon is made of rubber coated silk, the lightest weight fabric that he can find. By late august of 17 83, he's ready to debut his gas balloon.
