During the war you mentioned several times in your book about living conditions aboard ship especially sort of when the ship goes out of the North Sea Northern Atlantic area specifically like to to Eastern Africa where it would spend some time. So what were living conditions like a board a capital ship like this during the Second World War? I get the impression that something like air conditioning is not availableYeah and so they had to sleep on deck they had to strip down to the bare minimum of clothing even inEven in the Mediterranean where there's a memorable piece in the book where a destroyer comes alongside HMS Waspite expected to see the battleship the Mediterranean fleet flagship with everybody in smart uniforms.
