Scientists want to better understand how this sort of superimmunity is coming about, so that they can try to find ways to safely incorporate those benefits. The most obvious things that we can probably tinker with now are in there are drawbacks, are additional doses. And another thing is just interval. People are pursuing a lot of avenues to try and understand how we can better stimulate our ammune system to provoke stronger response.

People that have recovered from COVID are seeing stronger immune responses after vaccination than those that never contracted the virus. Researchers are now racing to unpick what is behind this powerful 'hybrid immunity'. In this episode of Coronapod, we discuss a series of studies which are offering up some possibile explanations, and ask how this might inform publish health policy in the future.
