The study looked at the blood of people who were in a high anxiety state or low anxiety state. It was looking for gene activity, which downstream you measure by seeing whether or not a protein is being produced or turned on or off. The researchers found that this approach was way more accurate in women than men. They mentioned a bunch of reasons why that could be maybe there are some genetic differences between men and women and how they experience anxiety.
